Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and JEFF, referred to as “JEFF,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” concerning your access to and use of the JEFF website, applications, and related services. By accessing or using JEFF, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use JEFF. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use JEFF only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. You represent that you are legally able to enter into these terms.

You may need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, maintaining the security of your account, and all activity under it. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

The service

JEFF analyzes course materials and user instructions to generate practice exams, solutions, study feedback, and related educational content. Features may include saving, printing, sharing, taking, and grading generated exams.

JEFF uses artificial intelligence. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular course. You must review outputs before relying on them. JEFF does not guarantee grades, exam performance, similarity to an actual exam, or acceptance by an instructor or institution.

Your materials and permissions

You retain any rights you hold in notes, exams, images, instructions, answers, and other material you submit to JEFF. You grant JEFF a limited, worldwide, nonexclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, modify, and display that material only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, and support the service or comply with law.

You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed to submit your materials and authorize this processing. Do not upload confidential records, restricted exam materials, personal information about another person, or copyrighted content when you lack permission to do so.

Academic integrity

JEFF is a study tool, not a way to evade academic rules. You are responsible for following the policies of your school, course, instructor, employer, and testing organization. You may not use JEFF to obtain, reconstruct, distribute, or answer a live, confidential, or unauthorized assessment.

Acceptable use

You may not use JEFF to:

• Break any law, regulation, contractual duty, or third-party right.
• Upload malware or attempt to bypass security, quotas, access controls, or rate limits.
• Probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or disrupt the service.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as official material from an instructor or school.
• Generate or distribute unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful content.
• Resell, transfer, or commercially exploit access or generation credits without our written permission.

Purchases, credits, and refunds

JEFF may provide free generations and offer additional generation credits through one-time purchases. Current prices and pack sizes are shown before checkout. Credits have no cash value, are nontransferable, and do not expire while the service remains available.

A credit is consumed when JEFF successfully creates an exam. If a generation fails before an exam is created, JEFF will attempt to restore the applicable free use or paid credit. Restoring a credit is not a monetary refund.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Except where required by law, completed credit purchases are final and nonrefundable. Taxes may apply. We may correct pricing or credit errors and may refuse or reverse transactions involving fraud, abuse, or an obvious mistake.

Generated content and ownership

JEFF and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, branding, design, and underlying systems. Subject to these terms and applicable law, you may use the generated exams and solutions JEFF provides to you for personal educational purposes.

AI outputs may not be unique, and other users may receive similar material. We do not represent that an output is copyrightable, original, or free of third-party rights.

Sharing

When you create a share link, anyone with that link may be able to view the shared exam. Do not share a link containing material you are not authorized to disclose. You are responsible for recipients and for distributing links appropriately. To request deletion of a shared copy, contact us at the address below.

Third-party services

JEFF depends on third-party services, including Google authentication, Firebase, the Gemini API, and Stripe. Their services and separate terms may apply to their processing. We are not responsible for third-party products or services outside our control.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information. By using JEFF, you acknowledge those practices.

Service changes and termination

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, or improve the service. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for JEFF or others, or misuse the service. You may stop using JEFF at any time.

If JEFF permanently discontinues paid generation functionality, we will provide any remedy required by applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JEFF is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JEFF and its operator, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, grades, or goodwill.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid JEFF during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or 50 US dollars. This limit does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JEFF and its operator from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your materials, your unlawful or unauthorized use of the service, or your violation of these terms or another person’s rights.

Disputes and applicable law

Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws applicable where JEFF’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Claims must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction over the parties and dispute. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence remain unaffected.

General terms

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement concerning JEFF. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay effective. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the service.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We will post the revised version and update its effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practicable. Continued use after the revised terms take effect means you accept them.
